Karen's Story
after graduation from north I went to Illinois State and graduated from George Williams College with degree in phys ed. taught for a year in a K-12 gradeschool, met husband, married and moved to Sioux City IA. went to nursing school, worked in Obstetrics for 10 years then started teaching nursing at same school I graduated from. completed masters degree in nursing, 2 additional certifications, ...Expand for more
and still teaching. started going on medical mission trips to Guatemala in 2001 which is where the picture is from and found my true joy in nursing there. have 3 grown kids, 2 girls, both married and 1 son, youngest at age 25. oldest daughter has a girl and boy, other daughter has 2 boys so we're busy grandparents! Love my summers off with teaching to hang out with the grandkids, swim and play.
