Joann's Story
43 years is a lot of living to recollect in this short space. Suffice it to say, I was married, have 2 children, Brian and Mary Ann, and five grandchildren. I started out in nursing school, traded in a white cap for a 10-key and bookkeeping software. Lived in the Virgin Islands for a couple years, Seattle and Alaska, then the South Pacific for 12 years. Now in Las Vegas, tax preparer, editor of a couple newsletters, write recipes, and blog. My favorite thing is cooking. I'm working on a cookbook of Polynesian recipes I collected while living in Tonga. How often I've thought about those high school years...the great dances at the ...Expand for more
teen-center, ball games, hay rides, skating on the pond, the hormones, the frustrations, the typical growing pains. The anxieties and the disappointments...the accomplishments and successes...Life was pretty simple in the sixties. Life got a whole lot more exciting after that. Now look where we are...how much history we've witnessed and been a part of.
I was in a cappella choir junior and senior year, Jr. Miss contest senior year. I worked so much at the hospital before and after school my senior year that I didn't date much. Besides I mostly dated guys from class of 65.
It would be so much fun to hear from anyone who remembers.
