Betty's Story
I joined the Army in April of 1981, lived in Germany for 4 yrs, this brought me to Ft. Carson, Colorado in 1986. I still reside in Colorado Springs, CO. I have a daughter who was born in Germany, and now works at a local news station KRDO, she edits the 12:00 news and shoots breaking news stories as a photo journalist, I have two grandchildren 4 and 5, Devyn and Destiny. I am currently enrolled in the local community college and will receive my Associates in Accounting in the spring of 2010. I currently live...Expand for more
with my daughter. Having had several job related injuries I've been unable to find work which resulted in going to school. I still miss Wisconsin, mostly the lakes and the friendly people. I think the people in Colorado are struck up, hard to get to know and do not have the wiliness to help each other like I remember back home. Maybe it's just the times. I don¿t know, it's just how I feel. I loved the military but choose to get out, it was very hard to give 100% to both motherhood and being a solider.
