We have two adult children. Our son is a high school teacher and was awarded The Building Hope Award a few years ago and was given Teacher Of The Year in his group by the VFW 1/11 and The Liberty Bell Award by The Shiawassee Bar Association 5/11. He and his wife have blessed us with four beautiful grandchildren whom still make my heart do a pitter-patter.
Our daughter is an O.T. and now working in Texas while her husband is completing his medical residency program. They have done volunteer work in Africa and our daughter has been involved with teaching English as a second language. They had their first child, a son named Caysen, in November '09. We are all very excited about this addition to our family and look forward to their return to Michigan.
They have all made us so very proud. We know we got lucky. Very lucky.. For this couple of old hippies, luck has been a lady! We may be broke but feel so rich in love.
Skip & I love the Blues and chase live Blues when able to. We've been on two of the Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruises and had the time of our lives! Highly recommended folks! We love to take our 5th wheel trailer to Blues fests. I find music soothes pain better than any medication. I can loose the dark side of myself in good Blues. That's my fix. It brings me light..kinda like "Since I found the Blues I've been in the pink" thing!
We garden and put food up..we can, freeze and dehydrate our garden harvest. We have 27 chickens and a few fruit trees. Every year we try to add something to our garden..a raspberry, rhubarb or blackberry plant for example. We both love to do this work and it helps keep me feeling in touch with Mother Earth. I don't do farmville or most of the apps here on fb. So PLEASE don't ask...
I love our family and our friends. So Blessed we have been! (-:".
