Bruce's Story
Oh where to begin. I was the goofy kid with red frizzy hair. The one that focused more on trying to be cool (failed!) and less on the things I should have (learning and making/keeping friends). I dropped out of school in the 11th grade because... Well see the previous and next sentence. I was married at the ripe young age of 16 and my twin daughters were born not long after I turned 17.
I had to hustle, make a living, and grow up quick. I could have been a welfare case (never accepted it) but instead I joined the Navy. I stayed in the Navy 7 years. Got a fair education there and started a good career in electronics. Saw a lot of the world and met great people.
After leaving the Navy I moved to Tennessee and bought a farm. Worked in Huntsville Alabama most of the time doing great things like working on space projects. My wife and I raised two great girls that went on to College and both achieved Bachelors degrees.
Along the way we forgot how kids were made and had two more, a son and a daughter. My son Caleb is now 16 and dwarfs me. He's a big guy, and intelligent too. My daughter is 12(teen) going on 30. She is...Expand for more
a wonderful girl though and as girls go she is smart and less trouble than boys.
My twin daughters are married now with two children each (one boy, one girl). They have great husbands and live in Huntsville, Al. They just celebrated their 35 birthdays and might kill me for revealing that. One is an aspiring writer with a Resume business that just won an award for her writing. The other is a teacher that also edits manuscripts for authors.
All of my children, including one that died in 1980, are the pride of my life.
I took a job in the telecom market working for Nortel on the road. Loved the work and traveling with my family in an RV. When the telecom market crashed in 2002 we stayed in Florida to be near family.
After 31 years of marriage, divorce got the better of us. However, life is too much fun to be depressed over. I work at Eglin AFB providing remote controlled targets and GPS solutions to the military. Since I didn't get enough College during my military years I decided to go back and pursue my degree in programming. All of that and spending as much time as possible with my children is what I do now.
