Susan Ichikawa:  

e) fell off right in front of Don Palmer. I almost died on the spot. (I worked with Don at the prison until he died a few years back...what a nice man he turned out to be.) My hero was and always will be my dad...who died 3 years ago. He was a WW2 vet and a Pearl Harbor survivor. My biggest surprise in life was that I never found the fairy tale life. (I know now it doesn't exist) I can't remember much of my teachers except for Mr Along and Mr. Reidy and I have seen Mr. Along in the drug store and talked with him and Mr. Reidy's wife worked with me at the prison. My weirdest job was working at an apartment complex and they hired me and fired me 2 days later and said they would give me an excellent reference...(How could they know????) I think they needed someone to cover a weekend and I was it. I share my home with my husband and pets. The one thing that I would do differently is wait to get married until I was older. The childhood memories that were best were when I was surrounded by family. I do remember at school sitting in the auditorium over lunch and talking with my 3-4 closest friends..Rita, Candy, Mary, and Sue.
