Lisa Miller:  

After graduating from Hackneyville High School in the summer of 1978, I attended Alexander City State Jr. College (now Central Alabama Community College) from the fall of 1978 until 1980. I graduated from the college with an Associate in Arts and transferred to Auburn University in the fall of 1980. In August 1982, I graduated from Auburn University with a B.A. degree in Public Relations/Journalism. Also in August 1982, I was named Editor & General Manager of The Dadeville Record, a weekly publication in Dadeville, AL. In 1986, my career took me to Millbrook, AL, where I was named Editor of The Community Press, also a weekly publication. In 1989, I was hired as Manager of Communications and Public Relations for Central Alabama Electric Cooperative(CAEC), Prattville, AL, a rural electric cooperative serving the electrical needs of more than 40,000 consumers in 10 central Alabama counties. While at CAEC, I won numerous communication awards from the National Rural Electric Association, the Cooperative Communications Association, the Public Relations Council of Alabama (Montgomery Chapter), and the Alabama Rural Electric Association. On July 13, 1991, I married Michael Anthony Miller of Greenville at the First Baptist Church, Prattville, AL. We have made our home in Prattville, where we are both very active in our community.
