Carolyn's Story
I live in P-town now, but most of the time I'd rather be residing in New Orleans or Florida, with my sisters or my daughter and 2 oldest grandson's. (they always manage to make me smile..even when this place makes me blue).
I am a certified pharmacy assistant and medical secretary. So i suppose there have been some fairly decent accomplishments in my life. Other than the fact that i have 3 beautiful children and 4 grandsons..soon-to-be 5!
I work at Wal~mart Pharmacy, hoping to train as a Tech one day in the future.
I have been a widow since 1997. My husband died at the age of 27~(on my mother's Birthday!) Which means that i became a widow at the age of 31! Yeah, it was a little hard on me..but as always, i was very strong..after all..i had 3 children. What WAS I supposed to do. But after 14 years, i started believing that i was much too young to live life alone, so i am now engaged to a wonderful man that i have known for nearly 22 years. And very happy.
I miss my baby brother, terribly..Billy. He has been gone now for 12 years, leaving 3 children behind. *you can see a photo of him on my profile on Myspace, which is also my desktop background..of course. Would YOU have it any other way if YOU lost a little brother? :-(
I have 2 cats named Toby & Cassie, whom i adore *even when they get into trouble.
I will say this..
I wish when we were all in school, that all the crapiness of those with money, wouldn't have treated those of us that had very little like dirt,& "their family's money", had not played such a huge roll in their lives, and they would have treated me and all the others with a little more compassion, rather than making us feel less worthy. We were people too.
Now that everyone is adults, some of you have found out what the "real world" is all about ~ unfortunately. And have had second thoughts about your childhood actions. When all the while..we..the less fortunate ones, whose families had to struggle for everything they got, already KNEW about the hardships of "LIFE".
It's a little late for the apologies for how it made us feel back then, so suck it up and welcome to reality.
We could have been friends back then. Who knows..you "might" have even liked us and remained friends all these years. Boy what you ALL missed out on! Pretty decent people,i can tell you that.
I'm a firm believer in "what goes arou...Expand for more
nd, comes around" and "we all reap what we sow"..especially through our children, huh? You know who you are no need to mention your name here.
I also would like everyone to know, whoever reads this..I'm STILL the same person i was in school, that you never even cared about..compassionate, fun, caring and very tenderhearted. Willing to stand beside ANY of you if you needed me..through thick and thin. You just never gave me two minutes of an opportunity to show you just "who" i was.
Some were kinder to my sister, and still to this day..first thing you ask of me is~ "how/where is your sister Helen. That is fine.. i love my sister. But I was a part of your class too.
I'm a better person for this. It fashioned me to be the strong woman that i am today.
So "THANKS".
I was always pretty backwards in school. Only talking with a few select people, because they needed a friend too.
I had a few crushes, just like others did in our class..but because i wasn't confident enough, as my sister was, to let that be known, and.. didn't want to be laughed at..or harrassed..i disregarded those ideas and just stood back and watched others getting involved in extra activities in school. Or..of all things..going to any of our dances, getting into any plays, sports, or musical programs. Or a sweet, innocent, kiss from any of them. **Innocent "crushes"..? And i do mean "crushes"..Phillip Kinney..the studious one..to Tim McCreary..the rocker/wild child.
There..it's out there. Ha, ha.~grin!
Bet none of you knew that i wanted to learn how to play the piano, or flute..did you?
Bet none of you even knew that i could sketch, or paint, huh? Well, the church by the fire dept. knew. Because i sketched a picture of Christ for my preacher there, and his wife (Allen Hatcher's parents)..for their anniversary. It was hung up the very next church service. So i must have been a "little" good at it.
Bet none of you knew that i loved history and thought about wanting to teach 3rd grade?
I'm also a movie buff..even some of the older ones. Like~ Breakfast at Tiffanys, Somewhere in Time, etc,. Including the actors that played the roles.
That's about all there is to fill anyone in on "WHO WAS Carolyn Collier".
What do you remember about me?
It's okay..we're all grown now. You can't hurt me anymore.
And if you do have kind thoughts..thanks. I appreciate them.
