Nancy's Story
During my high school years, my favorite memories were with the Young Life organization.I Loved our weekly get togethers, summer camps(Colorado and San Bern Mtns) with them and trips to Malibu in Canada as a camper and then as a workcrew staff. What fun!It was a Christian organ., so it also gave me a great support for my life. It was the 60's, so I could of gone either way. I think they called us "Jesus Freaks".Didn't bother us, as I recall. After graduation,I attended SaddlebackCollege...majoring in "Airline Stewardess" Ha!! I ended up getting engaged,went to work at Pac Bell(as 411 operator), then married and moved to Hawaii with my military husband. I had a beautiful baby boy in 1972. unselor. Around 1980, I went back to Pac Bell as a Yellow Page Advertising Sales Rep.Such a great opportunity!Great Job, great friends, great times! I stayed there until I moved to Lake Arrowhead in 1989 and opened an Antique store. That was a long time dream come true. I had my store for the next 20 years.I had a wonderful grandson in 2005. Also, a dream come true!! I had to close my store in 2006 due to my second bout with Breast Cancer.My first diagnosis was in 2001 and then in 2006. I'm still here and consider myself one of the lucky ones. The second time it went to the bones in my back, which is the only reason it ended my antiques career. It's a pretty physical business.I now am just getting my bearings again...sort of deciding what I want to be when I grow up. Ha! Move off the mountain or not move, that is the question.So, we'll see where this life take me.
