Connie's Story
I have had a happy, healthy life for the most, until I lost my only child, Shawn, in a car accident on a road with standing storm water in TX. He was on a 4 day trip to visit his high school buddy in June of 2000, the last thing I said to him at the airport was come home safe!!!!! TX took him away from me, plus his best friend of many years. They were 26 years old. Shawn left no wife, a couple of ex-fiance's and their kids he raised none of his own. Josh, his friend left a three year old daughter and wife. Life is short and unpredictable, live it daily like it was your last day!!!! My Son's Father passed away 10 years prior to him. I remarried in 1994 after 5 years of deciding if I ever wanted to do that again, but it has been a blessing. My husband, Richard, is a retired Engineer from Lockheed-Martin since 2005, which is where I worked when I met him in 1985....wow a lifetime ago!! so much better than the commercial world, my opionion...of course. I am the Comptroller for Systems Research Group, in Longwood, FL., Corporate Office, we have an office in Charleston, SC as well. Most of our employees are retired military Air Traffic Control Specialists (ATC), which is the Owner's background, we are celebrating 20 years in business this year.
I just recently moved from Sanford, FL back to Apopka, FL, foilage capital of the World, in July that is where Shawn grew up since he was 9, when we moved from Indiana. We have 5 acres in Sanford up for sale if anyone is interested??? Apopka is closer to 'FRIENDS", and family, and I love my new house back home, where I belong...I miss Indy, but Florida is awesome, fun & sun, beaches, do I need to go on? I love going home to visit though, "there's no place, like home".
Ok, that is my story, I would go on, but I'd bore you, so I better shut it down. Not at all like I was in school, very quiet and "some what" shy.
