Paula's Story
Ballard High in the late 60's early 70's was interesting with the war not quit over. My first car was a 1953 Ford. I parked it down hill so I could 'roll start it'! I did not know why the battery kept going dead. Still don't know, but what a car once it was running! Quiet and smooth, heavy...
Liv Clausen and Therese Peterson were my best friends along with many others who hung out at Gilman Park in the summers. We played ping pong and went to all city baseball games, keeping us out of trouble!
I moved to Ellensburg after graduation and never came back to Seattle. I lived on a small farm, learning all about raising goats, chickens, pigs, and providing for myself off the land as much as possible. We were called 'hippies' as many might remember.

met my husband Gary, whom I have been married to the past 31 years. Three children, two boys and one daughter, who are grown and living their own lives, we are awaiting the grandchildren. Humm, what is taking them so long!!!
Not to just sit by and wait for those kids, I am an artist with a little Art Gallery located in Cashmere Wa. at the local Cider Mill. It is called Barn's Etc. if you are ever in the area and would like to drop in!!
I work at our local ski resort (Mission Ridge) in the winter since 1994. Great winters managing the child care and taking time for some ski runs as often as possible! We care for children 3months to 6 years old to come play with us while their family is out on the slopes. Too much fun, painting and playing.
It has been a great 40 plus years overall and I look forward to running into some of my old friends from Ballard High!
