Diane's Story
My story is probably boring....I got married and went to work right out of high school, too young and dumb, as they say. Divorced in a couple of years, went to Mitchell College for 2 yrs to study art. Painting and drawing for a living- that's my ideal job but it isn't one I've ever been able to do fulltime. Lived the single life (with a couple of serious relationships) from 1973 to 1998, no kids; living and working in Troutman, Statesville, Charlotte (never too far from home). My various jobs include computer programmer, legal secretary, receptionist, mortgage incentive analyst, waitress, administrative assistant, customer service rep, retail clerk, among others. My worst trait is not wanting to get up in the mornings, so often late for work. I met my husband Jeff in 1998. We dated for 5 yrs then got married in 2003. H...Expand for more
e had never been married before and didn't have children either. How could you not marry someone who spent every night by your side in the the hospital for 2 weeks (kidney removal), and who held your hand during chemotherapy treatments the next year? I only waited to get married after that until I had enough hair not to have to wear a wig! Now we live next door to my mom in Mooresville with our numerous cats (probably shoulda been a veterinarian). We go down to Holden Beach at every opportunity! Hobbies include golf, bowling, darts and reading. I also like to dance, but my husband doesn't so that's out. I'm currently unemployed (displaced from Wachovia) but guess I'll start looking for a job soon. I love reconnecting with old friends and finding out their stories - and I hope they remember me as not too nerdy and shy.
