Susan's Story

Active with the American Red Cross national disaster services (DSHR), local RC Disaster Assistance Team (DAT) & rescue squad. Retired Emergency Manager/disaster planner. Many, many years, in psychiatric clinical social work. Still providing ICISF CISM critical incident services to fire/rescue/law enforcement, for 25+ years, through the Va. EMS Council system. T-B at the age of 58, following Hurricane Katrina. Spent 7-weeks in Mississippi, with Gustuv, & Galveston, TX., following Hurricane Ike last summer; & a week this year in Gilbert, WVA, following the Mother's Day floods. Always in training, waiting for the next deployment. My bags are packed & I'm ready to go. Would like to work part-time for FEMA on large-scale disasters.
