I joined the Air Force to see the world and they sent me to Offutt AFB, Nebraska. I met & married my husband, Mike, who was in the Navy. I did not reenlist in the Air Force. Mike and I decided to make the Navy a career, so I became a good Navy Wife. We had several duty stations before we returned to Nebraska, where he retired from the Navy in 1997. We have been married for 38 years and have 2 sons, 2 daughter-in-laws and 3 grandchildren. I had been with Credit Unions for 20+ years. I always wanted to come back to Texas. So when the opportunity came knocking within the VA for Mike he took it. We came down to Central Texas (Temple) in August 2008 to get him settled. I finished out the year with my then employer (SAC Federal Credit Union). Mike drove up to bring me down in January 2009. I started the job search in March and was hired. I started with Navy Federal Credit Union on May 4th. I gave notice and my last day was August 7th. The schedule was not working for us. We enjoy our time together. I did not go back to work.
