JoBeth's Story
wow, how to put the past into a few words...well, here's a try.
Right after graduating, I attended Empire Beauty School, graduated, but unfortunately 2 weeks before I was supposed to go to boards, my model had her hair cut and permed. I couldn't find anyone to take, so ended up putting it off. Like so many things that get put-off, I never got the chance to follow through. I ended up finding work as a secretary, tried factory work for a while and met my first husband. I got married in 1990 and had my first daughter in 1991 and the second in 1993. From 1988 to 1993 I worked for New Holland Supply in the credit department, then as the Manager of Customer Pick up. I did enjoy that job but quit to be a stay-at-home mom. In 2000, I caught "hubby" with g-friend #6,7,8 or was it 9, who's counting...lol... and decided I had enough. ting again and met some "interesting" people and some really great guys but never "Mr. right". Meanwhile, 2 of the girls I worked with talked (tricked) me into going to school to become an LPN. I graduated from LCCTC in 2007. That same year I married a wonderful guy named Anthony. We met online... I saw he lived in Mt Joy ...wow, a local guy!!!....missed the little "VA" right after it...lol. We did the long distance relationship thing for 2 years. He had just retired from the navy and was attending Seminary at EMU while we dated. He moved up here and became a chaplin for hospice and is continuing his education. My oldest graduated in 2009 (see photos)and joined the Brethren Volunteer Services doing missions work. And now I'm getting ready to go back to school and become a social worker. wow, forty th...cough, cough...and going back to school...am I crazy or what??? lol. I have a wonderful home in Bowmansville, 2 daughters, 4 dogs, 3 cats, 12 goat, 4 rabbits, numerous chickens, ducks geese and guineas and 3 parrots. It's crazy and I love it. I work for Ephrata Community Hospital part-time. My faith got me through a lot and I'm now in a happy place.
