I graduated school in 1969 and married in 1971. My first child, Kevin, was born a year later in 1972 and my daughter, Stephanie, came 16 months after Kevin. I was a stay at home mom for about 12 years, working part-time at a bank, church and even one year as Secretary for Northeaster HS before finally landing my first "real" job at Belden Wire & Cable in 1985 as an Insurance Coordinator. If I had stayed there, I would be retired by now but that was not to be. I divorced in 1987 and met my current husband, Rick, at Belden, whom I married in 1989. We moved to Boston and lived there for about 3 years then my mother got sick and we moved back to Indiana (South Bend/Granger) in 1992. I worked at a manufacturing company, Lock Joint Tube for 8 years as the Human Resources Manager and went back to school. I finally received my BS in Organizational Management in 2002 after getting my Certification in Employee Benefits in 1997 (4 long years. I left LJT and went to work at the H2 Hummer facility in January 2001 (right before 9/11). Life was good but the Hummer was not selling well so I left in 2004 to work for another automotive supplier, Faurecia, in March 2004, only to find out it, too, was failing.
