Bethany's Story
Well Classmates, it's been almost 30 years
since graduation, ouch! But, those were GREAT years, Remember the art teacher, Mr. Wiley...he was (is) awesome, and our Senior Advisor Joan and her husband Ed who played Kermit the Frog AKA MATH instructor. He was my favorite teacher who unlocked the mystery of analytical calculus.
Was it Mr. Wiley who doubled as a "typing" instructor, before there was keyboarding?! Was anyone out there a member of the Chorus? Remember the free cookies and punch at Englewood Bank, when we performed during the Holidays for their bank customers?
I remember fondly the math team, and how Riverview crushed us. I also liked the cool chick gym instructor, Leslie....she always wore OP wide wale cord shorts. Does anyone recall my election speech for Senior Class Secretary when I "tore" up my speech--well that cheesy maneuver helped you remember me, and I won the vote...but I can't take all the credit, which in great part went to my awesome campaign manager Larry Reye...Expand for more
s! Last I heard Larry was a successful entrepreneur living it up in the Caribbean. Anyone else live to escape classes to have a frosty at Wendy's? I'll never forget when my car broke down on River Road and Mrs. Geithman, Senior Year English teacher, stopped and took me to her house so I could call home for a ride. It's kind of sad how cell phones alleviate the need for "good Samaritans." Speaking of Mrs. Geithman's English class, Matt Desirdero , resident esoterical cynic, inspired me to leave my squeaky clean essays that barely were graded above a "B" to writing a tongue and cheek, dark funeral tome entitled "Ode to Grendel" --which ironically made an A+. Perhaps, a little Goth still resides in a dark corner somewhere...
I'll never forget a classmate, whose identity will remain anonymous, to protect the guilty, who came to Mrs. Curly's class, let's just say one or two cards short of a deck due to some heavy partying the night before...You know who you are, and in the end, the jokes on us.
