Ann's Story
Most of my classmates remembered me as a "special" girl because of my hearing loss. I always have to sit up front so I can lip read the teachers.
It was an honor that I was the first one be able to graduated from the high school and the rest who were behind me to followed.
I was always so involved in sport because that's what I was so good in P.E. and the gymnastist club. Took out one year off P.E. so I can take swimming at the Y.W.C.A. for a year, that was awesome!! I should have taken bowling too but can't have both.
After high school, went to EIU for summer class but I didn't get enough help so went to NIU for a year and came back home to applied for a job. Got a real good job with Caterpillar Tractor Co. in the computer program.
After I worked there for few years, met my husband and we had two children. I was a stayed home Mom til the kids graduated from c...Expand for more
ollege. While Paul worked for State Farm in Bloomington, I was a craft artist for various stores.
The difficult year of 2001 was that Paul passed away so I've been widowed ever since. What keeping me going is that I'm antiques dealer and enjoyed buying and fixing up and sell it to a shop in Washington, Illinois.
My daughter and her husband lives a few min. from me and they have 2 little sons so I enjoyed being a Grandma. My son and his wife lives in Madison, Wis. I see them a few times a year. My step-son and his wife have 4 children living in San Diego, Ca. I went to see them in Jan.
Right now, I'm preparing to go Italy in March for a great vacation with the church group and State Farm Retirees. This will be my second trip there, I'm so looking forward to it.
My life always been happy and full because I do have a wonderful family and lot of wonderful friends.
