Rachel's Story
Hello and how are you?! I'm a happily married mother of 4 children and 5 grand-children; all girls! My oldest daughter Elizabeth, lives in Indiana w her 7 yr old daughter, my second oldest daughter Stephanie is deaf & lives in a nearby city w her deaf fiance and 3 hearing daughters. My older son Isaac, lives here in my hometown w his girlfriend and 4 year old daughter. And my youngest son Michael is almost 21 yrs old, single, presently w/o children. He enlisted in the US ARMY last year with his MOS in Communications, is a Certified Paratrouper and stationed in Iraq. It's only been almost a couple of months since my "baby" was deployed in Iraq, and I've been doing my best to "be brave" for Michael; encouraging n uplifting whenever I "talk" to him, which is limited. We've only been able to communicate thru MySpace or Facebook as of late. He would call/text me on occasion prior his deployment. Alas, I've been currently going thru that "empty-nest" syndrome, as my 4rth & youngest child left my home last year in November. Sigh! Always being so much involved in all of my children's lives...now, I'm learning how to deal with living "my own life" together with my "new" husband alone for the first time...Expand for more
since we married 10 yrs ago, July 4rth! I was a single-parent & divorced when I met my second husband. My children's father died due to heart-complications a couple of weeks after I re-married. I was on FB and stumbled on this Classmates site and thought it could be fun to find alot of my high school classmates I hadn't heard from and wondered about. In 1974-75, my freshman year, I had a BBF-Best Friend for Life, her name was Victoria Harmon. We had a History and English class together, I think. Her father was in the US AIRFORCE and stationed on base here in B.S. West Texas. I remember comming over to her house on the base, thinking that she had a really cool room. She had this cool beaded entrance that's been etched in my mind ever since! Lol! We became very close and even exchanged "friend-ship" necklaces. I gave her a colorful, trendy choker and she gave me a dainty, gold chain necklace bearing a small, white pendant which had a ship emprinted on it! How sweet! If you're out there Vicky reading this-I'm hoping to find ya asap, so please contact me, ok? To my other classmates, I'd really be thrilled to hear from ya also, so please don't hesitate to to holla at me! I Love U All! God Bless U!
