Education Providence College 1962-1966 University of Munich (Ludwig Maximilian Universitaet) Germany 1964-1965 (German Exchange Student) Central Michigan University MBA 1980 Several Department of Defense University Level Courses Background Summary Retired military officer and civil service senior manager in the Department of Defense. Most of my career I worked in special areas which entailed direct support to military operators and senior commanders all over the globe. I was a special survival instructor, a HUMINT officer, a Vietnam Vet, former Defense Intelligence College professor, and senior manager of a Department of Defense agency responsible for Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape (SERE) training, survival equipment, training for high risk of capture personnel who could likely be taken prisoner during combat, taken hostage by a terrorist in peacetime, or shot down or put in detention in peacetime in another nation. I also managed such programs as Operation Yellow Ribbon like that of Operation Homecoming, to include repatriation and rehabilitation matters for all military returnees, and assisting families. Specialties: Assisting others in developing new technologies within each of the scientific arenas to produce unique and effective tagging, tracking, and locating devices. Each project involved numerous agencies, state of the art application of technologies, and constant innovation to meet program objectives. Former Owner, Artsmart of Anacortes,February 1997 - November 2005 (8 years 10 months) Anacortes, WA Produced art reproductions on all materials including special papers, Tyvek, canvas, silk using highest quality archival inks. Produces high quality prints and copies for artists, museums, hospitals, and homes. Even produced frames for all artwork, boxes for men and women's jewelry, shadow boxes, and live story retirement boxes. Produced specialized artistic window coverings for homes, businesses, and even yachts. Deputy Director Joint Services SERE Agency & Joint Personnel Recovery Agency February 1982 - April 2000 (18 years 3 months) Managed overall DoD operational matters relating to evasion and escape, SERE training of operators, recovery operations in combat theaters, hostage survival training, preparations for peacetime detention situations by unfriendly nations and groups, debriefing and repatriation services and family assistance for Missing In Action, Prisoners Of War, hostages, and detainees, when needed.
