Donna Lee's Story

Hi Y'all; After high school I worked with Linda Mazur Miller at Liberty Mutual. I eventually moved on to work in the sales and billing departments for the Mac Callen Co. Business was wavering and I was layed off. I was then hired by The Timberland Co as secretary/receptionist/insurance minder. I worked there until I became quite ill and had to leave. Since then I have worked in many facites of life but none more rewarding than that of being a mother of 3 and Nana of 3 plus one on the way. Oh, and of course my marriage of 38 years to John. Let's see, we our on our fourth dog, Meeko a Japanese Chin. Our first was a border collie Bandit, then we had Muffin who was a mixture of German shepard and ?, then we had Kelsey our beloved Scottie. We have enjoyed many cats, Cracker our rabbit, and Scooby Doo our parraket. Our children are all grown up and have children of their own. JD is our oldest and he has a son Logan who is 7 and lives in Newmarket. Ryan and his wife Ariane (Ari) and their daughter Brooke who just turned 3 lives in Mass. and Elizabeth lives with John and I along with her daughter Jaelyn who is 7. Beth is expecting in May. John has retired from the Postal Service and has been working for the infamous Wally World for the past 8 years. He says he'll never get to retire completely for a couple of reasons. One being his wife likes to shop and two and most important is that his wife has many medical issues that retiring any time soon just isn't feesible. In my younger days I used to bowl on several leagues and am proud to say I was rated as a top bowler. John and I and several friends used to go dancing every weekend and when the children started coming it became less and less. I was very active in my children's lives and activities. I just can't believe how time has flown by. Now when I am able I venture out with friends and family. John and I love going to our friends Ron and Vickie's camp in Pittsburg, NH. It is so peaceful there and we have a great time relaxing, reading and playing cards. This story will have to be continued as I can't see any longer. Until then blessings to all. Leave the area I'm in or/and sometimes cry. Relax? Oh, I crochet, read, sing, play games, and last but not least enjoy my grandchildren. I have a get away week with my grand-daughter Jaelyn every year. She is such a little grown-up person. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have Lord with me, my coffee and water, and pictures of my grandchildren to be able to deal with the day-to-day. My hero is more than one. My hero's are our service women and men; our fire fighters; our police; our nurses, doctors, EMT's; and those who give of themselves selflessly. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is ERJ A, because I believe we have some unfinished conversations that need to be resolved.. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Constance Langtange, because I miss our friendship and her smile.. Baseball, Nascar (Jeff Gordon;Jimmie Johnson; Jeff Burton); Basketball; Football; Bowli...Expand for more
ng; Figure Skating; Golf; Just kinda gotta love sports! As for Reality TV I watch but not religiously, Survivor; American Idol; Dancing with the Stars; America's Got Talent. I'm not glued to any but do enjoy them. As for my obsessions; I must admit I am hooked on my soap operas. Love playing games on World Winner. I enjoy meeting the people on there and having friendly competions. I have made good friends from MA, NC, WI, FL, Onterio, Canada, and New Zealand. Some of my friends would say I am obsessed with possesions. I'm sort of a hoarder. I find it hard to part with memories... If I could improve my home, I'd remodel my bathrooms and add on a large entertainment deck partially screened to keep those pesky mesquitoes away. My dream home would be simply, located on a lake overlooking the mountains. I must have at least 3 bedrooms and a craft room and last but not least a good sized kitchen as I like to cook.. You can teach them right from wrong , respect and understanding but they will teach you that all your hard work doing so can go up in smoke... If I won $100 million, I'd give 5 million of it to each of my children and grandchildren,, then spend the rest on 1mil to my sister, my aunt, my uncle,2 mil between friends, much to charity& church and keep enough to pay off all my bills, build that dream home and to live comfy with my hubby for the rest of our days.. My current age is 58. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be so old they couldn't live being active. I was so completely wrong. My best friend would tell you I'm crazy, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as kind, friendly, respectful, thoughtful, and has a good sense of humor.. I like to wear what is stylish, comfortable, and affordable. I do love to dress up occassionally as it does make me feel good once in a while. I share my home with my husband John and our dog Meeko, which I find to be just swell and dandy. Have had many trophies from candlepin bowling. Got rid of all but 2. Such dust collectors. In 10 years, I hope to be alive. I'm going to get there by the good Lord's blessings. My goodness I have a few but the closest would be Vernon. We met the first day of second grade. I can't say how we clicked as that was 51 yrs ago but we have been best of friends forever. My first job was at Rev. David Ramsey's home, where I got paid 50 cents an hour to babysit his and his then wife Pat' s children Lincoln and Nathan. What I remember most about it is they didn't have a television and I learned so much more because I had to read and be crafty. They especially Pat taught me many things, even how to lay a floor.. I fell from a two story porch when I was 3 and landed on an old rust runner sled blade. I got up walked up the two flights of stairs then cried. I was in shock. Another was also a biggie...I was 15 and was kidknapped by someone I used to babysit for. The scariest time of my life. I always wanted to be a mother when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were right.
