Christine's Story
I currently live in beautiful San Diego and have been here since getting married in 1969. I have one daughter and 3 grandsons and 1 granddaughter all who live close by in Imperial Beach.
I have been seperated for over 20 years and am finally learning to take care of me. I am still working full time for the San Diego School District and believe it or not I've been at the same school for 34 years. I started volunteering when my daughter was in kindergarten and eventually was put on the payroll. First as part time and then full time. I work in the school office half the day, and for the last 3 years have been responsible for the school business partnerships as well as the community and parent volunteers. njoy it most of the time. Our school is in a low income area so we have a large population of families who have newly immigrated to the United States. We are truely a Unitied Nations, students are from such places as Mexico, Somalia, Butan, Berma, Thailand, Russia, and many more countries.
As most of the rest of world, I am constantly trying to loose weight and get healthy. I am finally beginning to see results, but as usual it is never fast enough. I have a very special friend who consistantly encourages me. He has been an amazing friend who has changed my life and has made me a better person.
I am involved with the local Catholic church as much as I can with my current schedule. I would love to be more involved when I am able to retire hopefully within the next 5 years. All though with the current economy, who knows.
