Life
I live in Florence, Or. I lived in Palmer, Alaska for 20 years, returning to Oregon in December 2000, . Now I can use my web feet, instead of snow shoes.
After the Air Force, 1964, I started working at Oregon State Penitentiary., I was shot in the thigh, at the Penitentiary in 1976. After my recovery, I worked as a Counselor in the Work Release Program in Salem, then I became Manager of the Marion County Pre-Release program in 1978. I moved to Alaska in 1981.
I continued my career with Corrections in Alaska.
I retired in 1997 after 34 years in the field of Corrections.

College
In 1972, at 32, I started college. Night school for 2 years at North Salem and Chemeketa, then 2 year at OCE during the day. My major was police science/corrections and my minor was psychology. I was married, with 3 children. It was very difficult working 40+hrs a week and college, but I graduated in 1976 recieving my Bachelors Degree. It was a great learning experience and accomplishment for me.
