Larry (Dale)'s Story
I was born in Muskogee, Ok and relocated to Lomita, CA when I was barely six months old. I attended Harbor City Elementary School through the fourth grade and Valley View Elementary School after moving to Cleveland, TN. I attended high school at Bradley Central High School through most of my sophomore year and then moved again, this time to Bradenton, FL and graduated from Southeast High School. I took jobs in construction, telephone installation, cable television installation, and managed a restaurant. I joined the U.S. Army and served 23 years. My life since high school has been an adventure. I have traveled the world at least three times. Married a wonderful woman and together we have raised two successful sons, both graduates of East Carolina University. Our oldest son is extremely successful working in insurance and our youngest son is a successful software engineer. We now have four grandchildren, three boys and one girl (Grant and Troy from our youngest) and Avery and Eli (from our oldest). I love being a grandpa, although we don't get to spend as much time with them as we would like, we enjoy the time that we do get to spend with them. My wife and I vacation in Florida at least once or twice a year and love to scuba dive; often in the Florida Keys. We enjoy a serene home-life, reading, playing games, and the occasional movie; although I must admit my favorite is scuba diving. As you can see from my photos, I have a bit less hair than I did in high school and consider the receding hairless areas to be solar collectors supporting an eco-friendly environment....Expand for more
I miss my friends from high school, and I think of them often and wonder where they are, and how they have weathered the years. I would very much like to reconnect and renew old friendships. Education never ends; I continue to learn and grow. I completed my Associates Degree through Central Texas College, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Trident University International and completed a Master's degree in Information Systems Management with a concentration in software engineering and would like to continue my education. After retiring from the U.S. Army, I started a second career as a systems engineer contractor, working for the Department of Defense. I am also an Adjunct Professor for the University of Maryland University Global Campus (UMUGC). I enjoy my work and feel blessed to work with people I also consider good friends. I also own Aurora-6 Enterprise Services Inc., a technology services company. I have fond memories of my military career, the companionship and experiences I shared with some of the finest men and women a person could ever hope to meet. I still miss that part of my life, but there comes a time when other adventures call. My wife and I still live in Virginia, just 35 miles south of Washington DC. I would like to connect with friends from High School (both Bradley Central High School and Southeast High School) and the military. Retirement from my second career as a Senior Systems Engineer is fast approaching and I find myself looking forward to the next chapter of my life. Once again, I would love to reconnect with old friends.
