Douglas's Story
Life
My wife and I have lived in Canoga Park, Santa Paula, Sepulveda, and Thousand Oaks, California. Then two suberbs of Salt Lake City; West Valley and now Sandy, Utah.
We have 4 children. As of March, '08 Jason is 29, single, works technical support for Dell. Kristen is 27, married to a young man from Colombia, they live in Orlando. David 25, shortly graduates from the University of Utah adn is looking at neurology. David's wife Elizabeth graduated from rival BYU and teaches Jr. High Home Econ. They have one son and a daughter on the way. Jeanette and her husband Jeff live in Sandy, Utah. He works for Fed Ex and is attending classes in construction at the community college. Jeanette 22 They already have their primary residence and a rental. So young!
My last employer in California told me, "Don't go to Utah. You'll starve in Utah". We ran a start up business from '93 to '95, then partnered with an owner operator of a one man contract electronics assembly s...Expand for more
hop. We bought him out in 2000 having grown to 50 employees and sold the company in June of '05 with 100 employees. I loved providing employment for good people, but was excited to get out and move on. We now dabble in real estate, rentals and flipping.
The most important thing I've learned in life is that we are here for a purpose. Life is short. We must live it richly. The secrets to happiness are to make and keep commitments with our Maker and to live with passion the Law of the Harvest. The riches and bounties of life follow.
Feb. 7, 2008 - Cheri and I returned last week from 18 months of volunteer church service in the Patagonia region of Argentina for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (the Mormons). What a wonderful experience with wonderful people!
We are now getting to know our first two grandchildren who were born in our absence. They are great!!!!!!!!!!!
Update May 2009 - Our third grandchild, Katelyn turned one year old in April!
