Lynn's Story
LIFE ...
Take a peek into my life over at FaceBook.
I've been married for TWENTY-TWO years now to Eric, who works as a manager for the FAA in Atlanta's Regional Office.
We have two amazing kids ... Alex, our seventeen year old, and Alli, who's fourteen. And don't worry, neither are ANYTHING like me. *grin* Alex is our Eagle Scout ... our brilliant one and has never failed at anything! Alli is our socialite and athlete ... she's been involved in gymnastics and fast-pitch softball.
After doing my time in the travel field as well as writing for tv and radio, I became the president and CEO of "Bright Sky Studios, Inc.", a film production and casting firm located just south of Atlanta.
I'm currently a flight attendant for AirTran Airways and loving it!!! What better way to see the world when you can fly free on almost all the major carriers!??
I enjoy back-packing, rockclimbing, camping, cooking, and black and white photography. I'd LIKE to say I enjoy gardening, but I'm afraid the plants would differ with me. I really SHOULD have paid attention in botany I guess. Sorry, Mrs. Moore. :)
SCHOOL ....
Starting to piece together fuzzy pieces of my elementary school years now. Thanks to my Dad's journals I can now remember all the way back to second grade at Bacon Primary School, living in Garden Acres in Hinesville, and playing with Timmy Greeson in the ditches and listening to Beatles records on a little brown record player! (Thanks Tim for helping jog a few memories!)
I remember Glennville and going to school in Bellville, Ga. I remember hanging out at the water tower in Glennville and going to a sleepover in the city library. I remember the year the water tower froze and the water burst out and froze on the ground and we ice skated on it.
Let's see ... after Glenville I headed to Pinewood Christian Academy and then on to Sparta, Georgia to John Hancock Academy. In Sparta, I remember riding motorcycles out in the country with Fern, Vince, Gina, and Susan. I remember skinny dipping in the kaolin mines in Devereux and going into that abandoned pre-civil war home in downtown Sparta on Halloween night.
After that it was off to John Milledge in Milledgeville and then on to GMC where I had the time of my life! Being on the "small" side, I managed to fly JUST enough under the radar at school to get away with almost anything. Because I'm not sure of the statute of limitations on detention and punishment by fast-food joints, I'm not going to list my LONG list of pranks and mischief I was involved in ... but I will admit to the Bulldog kidnapping during the week of Spring Break in 78. I do this only because Officer Bob caught me and our posse' and made ...Expand for more
us promise to return it by school on Monday. We did ... but it was pink and blue when it came back. I thought it looked tremendously better.
And lets not forget "swimming" in the "goldfish pond" ... intentionally getting locked in the Old Capitol Building ... "Mental Toughness" ... the "developing lab" (Boe ... how many hours did we SPEND in there "developing pictures"?) ... when Del Taco opened and we all skipped school ... turning our desks around backwards in Maj. Heymans class ... the day we all went "deaf" in Maj. Gibsons class ("Sir?") ... switching seats in Mrs. Farrs class ... our senior year float ... Boom Chicka Boom ... flipping the teachers desks ... mystery meat ... sneaking down to Punziano's for lunch and Ryles Bakery whenever I could ... babysitting General Salets dogs ... page 616 in the giant library dictionary ... Phydeaux ... "those aren't raisins" ... orienteering ... I could go on and on ...
All said, high school was a blast and even though it's occasionally "fuzzy" ... I'd do it all over again in a second. **I've GOT to say kudo's to Maj. Lawrence Heymann for being such an AMAZING and inspirational teacher. Without him, I'd probably not do even a TENTH of the things I do now!**
It was great seeing everyone at our 25 year HS reunion ... especially Glenda, Claire, Susan (still laughing), Bliz, Walter, Martha and everyone else! Guys ... let's not wait another 25 years ... that was too much fun!!!! PS ... did we ever figure out what we were eating from the Hor-douvres table by the band??!?! Pasta? Chicken? Mystery meat left over from 79??? I tremble at the thought!
COLLEGE ....
College wasn't quite as much fun as High School, but I still had a blast! From Georgia College to UNC ... it was all a fantastic time!
I will never forget the cookout in the cemetery ... swimming in our cocktail dresses ... "borrowing" the jeep ... treating the entire campus to "Queens Bohemian Rhapsody" during third period (don't ask ... let's just say "I" did it LONG before Andy Dufrane in Shawshank Redemption did) ... drama class ... Star Spangled Girl (fun role, great cast) ... "who's shirt is this?" ... driving to Memphis to "pick up Mr. Gibbons" ... again, I could go on and on. Fun times.
YOU'VE READ THIS FAR ...
May as well read a little further .... you can find me on Myspace where I blog occasionally ... Multiply where I blog a LOT ... and of course FaceBook.
Let's see ... I was on the Mike and Juliette Show a while back in NYC ... very fun ... got to spend a little time with a classmate from 2nd grade ... and enjoy NYC at night *not scary*.
Other than all of this ... life is pretty normal. Look forward to hearing from all of you!
