Tonya's Story

Hello, My Name is Tonya (Jackson-Johnson) Parker. I went to Northwestern High School. There I played basketball (35), volleyball and ran track. I left the Big NO after a tragedy happened in my family and went to live with my Aunt Flora in High Park. I came to Highland Park High School in the 11th grade. When I first got there, I had no friends and NONE of the girls liked me. They all thoght that I was trying to date the football team. The truth of the matter is, my aunt told my cousin, Michael Morgan who was a popular football star not to leave me and to show me around. Well, because I got to hang out with Mike and his boys, Kevin Davis and David Fogle, Jeff Pinkett and Tony Lumpkin, I was not liked. No one even gave me the chance to make a name for myself. Then I met Denise Fogle who was the nices person I could ask to be friends with. She was my only friend until later in the 11th grade. Than I developed a friendship with other girls like Leslie Foster (who was my hangin partner) and Alvena who was good friends with my cousin. By the 12th grade, most folks called me Mike Morgan's cousin until I started dating Johnny (Country) Dickinson. We dated during the 12th grade and had a son together. He saw his son once. My oldest son is now 29 years old, married and have two daughters. His lost not mine. Although I spent an equal amount of time at each high school, I have something special from each of them to remember. I was a very popular girl at Northwestern High and well liked, at Highland Park High, I was in the wings of stardon and fame. I was a shadow or in the shadow of someone else, being my cousins and my high school boyfriend. During my 11th and 12th grade years at Highland Park, I made more friends but life divides you from them or a situation comes between you and them. My Highland Park High School just celebrated their 30th year of being out of school. Looking at the pictures, they had a nice time. I made it to the 20 & 25 year of Highand Park. I hope that I can make it to something at Northwestern to visit and see my friends there. When Life throws you a curve ball; Find a way to make it a grand slam. Pray for yourself and others instead of talking bad about them. Remember EVERYONE HAS TO ANSWER TO GOD!! YOU WILL DO BETTER IF YOU LET GO AND LET GOD!!! ...Expand for more
My Life Our family started a bread business about 5 years ago, but last year, we started making different varieties of HOMEMADE STLYES and FLAVORS; Philly Steak & Cheese; Pizza; Turkey & Cheese; Ham & Cheese; and the different kinds of butter....you must come and take the challenge. It is Awesome. We have been together for 26 years! (Married 23 years June 28th, 1986) My Spouse, Diandre Parker went to graduated in 1975 from Central High. We met when I attended Northwestern. His cousin is Larry (Stevie Wonder or AKA Pac Man in bowling) Richardson. He went to Central High, but always came to see his cousin run track. After graduating, Larry's wife (Vanessa Marks) told me that Diandre wanted my number, the rest is history. My sons are Johnny 29 as of April 4...he currently is on staff helping with Kentucky State University Band. He is still studing to get his degree (about 24 Credits - ran out of MONEY 3.0 GPA) He plays all horns, but his favorites are the French horn and Trumpet. He also plays the Keyboard. He currently has two daughters and will be tying the knott on June 6, 2009 to Kendra Thatcher of Columbus OHIO. Deante is 24...he is a graduate from Le Cordon Bleu (Brown College) with an Associates Degree in Culinary Arts (3.1 GPA). He has worked for places like the Rooster Tail, Sheraten, The Whitney and MGM. He is currently doing PRIVATE Catering Jobs and helps his dad with the Bread Business. Jevon will be 22...he graduated in 2005 from ML King. He is currently unemployed from Contech LLC. He is thinking about enlisting in the Air Force of the United States. He wants to fly planes. My Job (due to illness in may 2002, I am currently disabled; I also just had a heart attack in November 2005. Just keep me in your prayers.....thanks.) Thanks for the prayers; I am doing GREAT...I know that prayer changes things. My last position at Wayne was the Graduate Admissions Secretary for the Physics and Astronomy Department. I was scared and nerves after 911 because of what my job entailed. Bringing folks from other countries was exciting at first, I did learn alot about other countries, zip codes, international laws and travel. Through it ALL - God has made the necessary changes in our country and at the Universtiy. PUT YOUR TRUST IN GOD BEFORE MAN ALWAYS!! --Luv y'all Tonya
