Anita's Story
Life
I live in Concord, Alabama, which is near Hueytown. I have been teaching Special education since graduating college in 1988. I completed my Doctorate of Education in December 2000. I got married in April 2002, however was widowed by April 2003. I stay pretty busy with teaching. (Oak Grove High School). I have 5 cats and one dog. My pasttimes include going to bluegrass and folk music festivals. My favorite musicians include Phish, John Prine,Iris Dement, Grateful Dead, Todd Snider, Leftover Salmon, Stacey Earle and many others. I am not a gold Member, so I am unable to read emails or signatures on the guest book. However you can find me on myspace as spedteach.
School
After graduating from St. Clair County High School, I went on to Livingston University for my bachelor's and master's degrees. I Later received my Education Specialist degree from the University of Alabama and my Doctorate of Education from The University of Southern Mississippi...Expand for more

College
My Years at LU were some of the greatest years of my life. I think LU was the perfect school for me. After graduating in 1988, I continued to attend LU for my Masters of Education. I went on the The University of Alabama to get my Specialist of Education degree, and then to The University of Southern Mississippi for my doctorate.
Workplace
I have been teaching students with exceptional needs since 1988. I started teaching in Linden Alabama, and moved to Jefferson County in 1990. In the JefCoEd system, I have taught at 4 different schools. I began at Hillview Elementary, after 4 years I moved to Pittman Middle School. After 4 years there, I went to Hattiesburg Mississipp to work on my doctorate. Upon returning I taught a year at Lipscomb Elementary. I began teaching at Oak Grove High School the 2000/2001 school year and have been there ever since. I am also currently teaching course at Jacksonville State University as an adjunct instructor.
