More about AUDREY:"Aged 80 this year, suffering senile dementia (SD) so bad I "have to read the morning paper to know what day of the week it is." (I read that definition of SD somewhere years ago.) My kids take good care of me, especially Jeannie who puts up with the SD.
Jeannie is gracious and kind, tells me over and over what her requirements are and makes me feel useful. "Fold the clean towels in the dryer." "You can shower evenings, not mornings." "Get up and walk ...Expand for more
every hour." (I play computer games.) She understands good nutrition and watches my diet. I'd rather be in San Diego with Jeannie than at home in Chico. or anywhere else I can think of.
To enjoy Jeannie's care, I had to leave my home of 40 years. And I'm OK! I'd rather be here with Jeannie than at "home" without her. The peace far outstrips my capacity to understand it! I miss my home church and my friends in Chico, but our separation is temporary! I miss having my own home, my own kitchen, my piano... But not much. God meets all, ALL my needs...".
