Aaron's Story
Life
It's been great to read other people's bios, and it has inspired me to write my own. I think we all are surprised where life takes us, or doesn't take us. Sometimes I think of myself like George Bailey in It's a Wonderful Life (my all-time favorite movie). I wanted nothing more than to shake the dust of my little hometown off my feet, and see the world...build bridges a mile long, buildings a hundred stories high, etc. I went to University of Illinois because it was the sensible choice, and young George Bailey got to see small town Illinois for 6.5 years. And now, would you beleive it, George Bailey is back living in Bedford Falls, er, Elgin, three blocks from where I grew up! But just like the movie, I have found out that...Expand for more
all my starry eyed dreams held empty promises, and I'm really beginning to see the important things in life are not glamorous and don't pay well, but do deliver true joy - God, family, friends, and helping others.
Since 2002 I have worked at a technical college helping students get their degrees, and after years of unfulfilling jobs, I have truly found something that makes me feel like I am making a difference. In 2000 I met the love of my life, a true angel from heaven, and we've been blissfully wed ever since. I have a beautiful and talented 15 year old daughter, and in November 2006 a bouncing baby boy. Along the way I've been blessed by great friendships and people who have inspired and encouraged me. And today, old George Bailey knows that even though he did not get the glamour and riches, he has far more than he deserves -- a wonderful life.
