Abby's Story
Life~Now there is a Big Word for many!
Ever since I found out I was diagnosed with breast cancer life has been up and down. Still going through the first stages and still so surreal to me! My 3rd Biopsy now 3rd Mammogram, MRI, X-rays, Tissue taken and found more. Mastectomy is next Chemo & Radiation. Treatment resumes however I am to take meds 5yrs. Reconstruction is in my next plan. All the while this is my life continued follow care. Follow me on Facebook or HI5. I will need all the support now than ever!....Thank you!
I have a Girl (Lana) February 19th 2011 6 yrs old. My son (Lorenzo) Birthday May 4th 2010 8 yrs old. Lifes so far has been good until Breast Cancer. It is true no one will really know what a cancer indivdual has to endure. I continue on with my routine day in and day out just more doctor appointments. Time as we all know goes by so fast I just try and take it slow and enjoy every minute. I have since met many classmates we keep in contact. Hope to meet many more on facebook.
I have moved now for the 30th time it just has been a bumpy road for me since this economy has crunched pretty much all of us.
I have a sister and 2-brother's that also went to Fresno High School. Donna, Arnie and Mark.
Fresno High School California.
My cooking teacher (DeSilva) inspired me as well as my Clerical teacher (Campbell). I hoped to be remembered by my being honest an true and very helpful.
If I could do it all over again I wish I wasn't in that BAD Car Accident that almost took my life that afternoon the day of my graduation 6/18/1983. I was on my way to buy gifts for my friends but going to eat lunch first "Taco Bell". Brian Poe was the driver in a red camaro not sure of the yr think 68 or 69 just bougth it no seat belts no insurance firestone tire blew out hit St. Teresa School wall in Fresno, CA. The rest ...Expand for more
is history.
Televised on Channel 26 news which I have yet to get a copy of.....the tape that was filmed of my accident. Well, I was unconscious any way.
I only hoped was that it was announced at the Fresno Convention Center to my classmates why I wasn't there with them to graduate.
I would have been more serious about school. My biggest crush was Joe Vega. My happiest moment was when my parents finally let me go to a dance.
When I went to the school prom with my very best friend Bernie DeSantigo which has since past away when he was 27 years old. (Very Sad)He had pictures of us everywhere and .... I LOST IT.
Craziest when I stayed up all night at Disneyland for Grad night. Really didn't have many crazy times. Well.....one with my track team when we came back from Santa Cruz! Yikes!! There was a "creature" in the ocean and all the girls screamed and ran out of the water. Me I stayed and wanted to see what it was...as if started to get closer.....I stayed.....and realized it was a seal. Good Times!
I was a teenager with strict parents. I was also very shy and quiet.
Workplace
Work....
Hmmm.. My first job was at Taco Bell I was 16 and stayed there until I was about 21. My other job was a waitress at Lyon's Restaurant in Fresno on the corner of West/Shaw don't think it is there anymore Denny's now. I worked for Lyon's about 13 years was a supervisor. I moved then had many different jobs. Now my present job is Fox Racing (Motorcycle (Dirt Bikes) Company). I was working at the Call Center to Warranty/Returns Supervisor to Dealer Sales Support which is what I do now.
I just breath and think of what makes me happy.
I have many hero's but I would have to say my Father, the Fire Department they are risk takers and angels just like our troops.
I lke being outside watering and tending to my plants and just enjoying nature.
