Adam's Story
After graduation I spent a couple of weeks hanging out on the beach and then left for the Army. Over the next 24 years I traveled the world, spent many a day 'camping out' with the troops and meeting great folks. Spent a year in Korea, 10 years in Germany, a year in Bosnia and the remainder at different military installations in the US.
I met my wonder bride at my best friends house (his sister in law) when I was on my way from Fort Benning, GA to Fort Eustis, VA in 1980. We were married shortly afterwards and have been together ever since. We have three great daughters, who with their husbands and the 11 Grandkids, keep us very busy.
I got back into motorcycles about 4 years ago and have been riding a Harley Davidson since. I currently own a 2007 HD Heritage Classic. Denise (my bride) and I try to ride as often as we can, but the hot Texas summers take their toll on Denise so we try to make the rides early in the day or early in the evening. I retired from the Army in 2000 and started working for a small stainless steel foundry and machine shop. I performed a number of duties while at Delta Centrifugal. Started in the tool room working on job orders, supplies management and calibration, became the purchasing manager, added the duties of maintenance manager and then became the lean enterprise coordinator and back up QA manager.
I left for the DC area to help a friend work on improving facilities maintenance and budget management for Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall. After about 16 months there was called and offered a job opportunity at another foundry in Texas. That helped me to get back to Texas, closer to the kids and grandkids. Work can be a bear some days, but I am enjoying it very much and look forward to another several years there.
I have not been at a location where I was able to attend any of the previous reunions, but am lookng forward to the next one.
