Adam's Story
It's funny that when i was 16-17 workin at a golf course, the older buddy of mine that worked there told me, "Adam, when you get outta high school life will go Zoooooom." Hehe, man was he right. Almost 8 years ago now. Tried out Quad C for a semester after graduation. Took some courses on learning to work in recording studios or with Live sound support and it was pretty cool. But time came around when i had to GET OUTTA THE HOUSE. So, got a full time job doin land surveying and college just didn't find time in the schedule anymore. Nothin but 10 - 12 hour work days after that. Money was great though. One thing that has stuck with me to this day though is my music. Started playin drums when i was 16 with my old classmate Danny Motta on guitar and i haven't given up since. My first performance in front of people was the guitar center drum off they have every year. Didn't win any place though. Too many jazz style drummers i guess. I'm more of a 311 / metallica / incubus style :). After about 2 and half years of surveying and 1 crash landing girlfriend, i got laid off due to downsizing (don't you just love that reason) of the department. But i ain't one who'll be like, "Yeah time for some unemployment checks and chillin!" Uh, NO....Expand for more
I had a buddy who worked at another golf course so i got hired and been there ever since. Love the work, love the atmosphere, the people, moneys okay with tips, and I LOVE THE GAME. Actually gettin real good at playin. Played in my first organized tournament a week ago with my buddy up there on my team and had a great time. Not a tiger woods though.
Right now i live out in Princeton with a friend of mine and his wife, who i consider almost family, and there 9 year old son and newborn. My friend is only 2 years older then me and has four kids now. He only gets to see his two girls every other weekend though. Never gets to see his son. Real sad long story. He's a great friend. Hopefully soon i'll get settled with a wife and kids like him. Only seems like yesterday i was still stayin out till 2am partyin with friends and then goin to work at 6am. Can't do that anymore. Guess it's the mileage :). Haven't really hung out with ANYBODY from high school except Danny and his friends and that was 4 years ago. I'll see someone i remember everyonce in a while in Allen at a store or driving. Makes me remember everyone i knew. Hope everyone is doin great in their pursuit of success and happyness as we are the class of 2001. PeAce!
