Adela's Story
Hi classmates! I have been in Iowa/Illinois for the past 17 years. I love it here because it is not so big that I am freaked out but big enough that I am not so bored. I graduated with an Associates from S.C.C.C. and then I moved to Iowa and graduated from a private catholic college named Mount St. Clare in 1995. I thought I could save the world when I graduated-NAIVE and then started working for a Domestic Violence Program. As you can imagine, I got out of that work pretty quick. icer for Rock Island County. I did that for 6 years and then got promoted to Director of Prevention Services. I have been running a Truancy, Homeless, and Safe Schools Program now for 5 years. I love working with kids. They are not like us when we were in High School. They are getting involved with some scary stuff and it makes me kringe to think about it. I am getting close to my getting my Master's Degree in Social Work. I will graduate in May of 2010. My daughter is in school now so time is just flying by.
