Adrian's Story
Life
This is sort of long, but life has been a journey.
After high school, I immediately entered the military (Army) as a 74C (Telecommunications Operator) and stayed in from August 1991 Â September 1996. While in the Army, my duty stations included 2 years in Germany and 2 years at the Pentagon. While working in the Pentagon, I was enrolled in school part-time pursuing a degree in Architecture; however, I decided to drop out of school and start a Home Improvement business and work it on the side. The business was going so good that I decided to get out of the Army 1 year early in order to run it full time. The business lasted for about 1 more year and then bellied up, and from there I had to work odd jobs in order to keep my head above water.
Finally, I decided that since I already had Telecommunications experience from the military that I should just get back into that field. I got lucky and landed a gig at the Department of State in D.C., but it barely paid enough money to keep gas in the car. ething or I wasnÂt going to make it. In October of 1998, I ended up taking a job which paid a whole lot more, but located in Columbus Ohio, but this was perfect because it allowed me to visit Pontiac on the weekends. After working at this job for a few months I noticed that they were systematically laying people off, and because of this, I decided to jump ship before my number came up. Needless to say, I decided to move back to Virginia in June of 1999, landed a job with Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC), and immediately enrolled back in college. However, this time I pursued a degree in Information Systems and received a Bachelors Degree from Park University. I left SAIC after 5 years for another company and entered graduate school thereafter. I finally received a MasterÂs in Computer Information Systems (CIS) this past June from Bellevue University, and no way am I going to pursue a Doctorate, I'M DONE WITH SCHOOL!! Between all of this, I managed to get married in 2003, and my wife and I are expecting our first child in December 2006.
Good luck to all
