Adrianne's Story
Life
Hmmm...let's see. I currently live in Seattle, Washington, and am in UW Shool of Law. I have been married to a great man (David) for 7 years now and have 5 lovely cats and a brine shrimp. I have travelled all over, and have lived in Texas, New York, Hawaii, Connecticut and Washington.
I have gone from a good girl, to a bad girl, back to a good girl. I regret very little, although that doesn't mean that there aren't things I wish I could have done differently.
My current obsession is buying a house. I want one so badly I can taste it. Unfortunately, I have no idea where I want to live, nor do I have any money to buy one. But someday...
Since I have been a student for so long, I haven't really developed any hobbies lately. Really I have turned into quite the TV junkie. Sad, I know. Ah, HGTV, I love you...
But I have always enjoyed the lives of people, which includes those I know, and those I don't (thus the enjoyment of TV), so if you know me, please feel free to write me. I love hearing about what y'all have been up to.
College
It only took me 6 years to get my AA. Heh heh. I was working through all of it, which is why, I could only take one class here or there for most of it, so it took me quite some time. But once I was able to finish up, I transferred over to WSU and quickly finished up my BA. I am in debt to my eyeballs, but hopefully it will all pay off in a few more years. I headed off to law school in the fall (sometimes not having hobbies has its privileges), but I am not yet sure exactly where I want to take my law degree. I am thinking Wills & Trusts. If anyone has any suggestions...
Workplace
I worked the requisit number of crappy odd jobs as a kid, scooping ice cream, waiting tables (as I recall, I was terrible at this), p...Expand for more
hoto lab, I was even the Easter Bunny once (have some respect for anyone you meet in one of those suits--they are far worse than you can imagine). Then I moved into youth social services and became a social worker for homeless teenagers in Seattle. Did that for about 10 years. Worked with developmentally disabled adults, helping them find work in their communities, worked with convicts getting released from prison, trying to help them find work and transition back into mainstream society. That was an awesome job.
Since finishing up my BA though, I really don't know what I want to do with my life. I thought college was supposed to teach you things like that. Oh well. I have always had a passion for medicine. I thought law. Then psychology. Maybe editing. Maybe the FBI. Then back to law. I dunno. Maybe I will raise emu. For fun and sport, y'know.
Military
Ahhh...nothing better than a man in uniform. And I should know. My husband was in the Navy for several years, stationed on the USS Lincoln in Everett, WA. Then he was recalled (thanks, Bush) to Cuba after 9-11. That sucked, although the health insurance rocked! Payed for a new nose for me. Yea!!
Currently I am giving thought to the JAG program once I finish law school. The experience would be great, and it would give me the opportunity to serve which has always pulled at my patriotic little heart. My family has served ever since getting to this country (which on my mom's side includes the Revolutionary War), and neither my sister nor myself has and I frankly feel a little guilty about that. It just seems like something I should do. But since I am getting older and have no desire to get my butt shot off in some war I think we shouldn't have started, the Jag program seems like a good option.
