Adrienne's Story

Life Hi everyone. Well, I was basically quiet in school, but many of you I considered great acquaintances and friends, and may recognize me. Since those days, I graduated from El Camino College, got married, worked for LAPD as a Clerk Typist, and continued my education at Cal State LA. I then had two children and switched careers, working for the DMV for 10 years then the LA County Coroner's Office. We moved to the Inland Empire when the boys were in junior high, and have lived here ever since. My sons are 27 & 24, one plays basketball in the ABA and the other is a Journalism student in college. I have been married to the same wonderful man for 28 years, and we have two grandchildren: Sirinity is 4 and Isaiah is 5. Our residence is in Moreno Valley. I started working for the County of Riverside when we moved out here 15 years ago, and still do. We like to travel, enjoy sports, and love jazz. I would love to talk to some of you, so please feel free to contact me! Stay well and God Bless! School This is a tough one, since I ha ve so many wonderful memories from Dorsey. My biggest crush HAS to be the one I had on Kenny Jones. He played trombone in the Jazz Workshop, and Mr. Proby, one of the Security Officers. The teacher(s) that inspired me most was Ms. Dobbins, the Spanish teacher. Alot of people thought she was mean, but she helped me and praised me and was such a nice lady to me. She had alot of adversity in her life; the auto accident that almost killed her, the taunting she was subjected to by the students, but all in all she made it through. Also, Mrs. Buccola the counselor. She put up with alot of my nonsense, but put me in line when I was in danger of not graduating. Although I had to go to summer school and din't walk the stage, she made me feel like I was still special. Thank you both! The craziest moments are too many! The "circle" is where they all happened. e senior picnics and ditch days. I remember we had alot of talent come out of our school too: Jody Watley, Andre Harrell, Jesus Garber (KSMD and later KDAY), and Jeffrey Daniels, among a few others. All of my memories are happy ones! College College was okay. At El Camino, I met some really cool people, and was working also, so didn't socialize much, until I met my husband at a club in LA. At Cal State LA, I was working full time, raising two toddlers, and keeping a husband happy! The two years I was there I studied my butt off, but met a very diverse and intelligent group of people, and learned alot about tolerance and racial harmony! I had my own place of course, so I have no dorm memories, but graduation and the party my mom and dad gave me was da bomb! My husband helped me through it all, taking on alot of household responsibilities while working full-time also. We made it through! After I finished, he went back to school and got his Business degree. Workplace I have gone on to some very great jobs! I worked for the LAPD Gang Detail as a Clerk Typist for 5 years until I couldn't stomach it any longer, The gangs got progressively more and more violent and the pictures were extremely graphic. I was lucky I didn't end up having miscarriages! Then, I was blessed to work with my mom for about 4-5 months until I accepted a position with the DMV for ten years, enduing many transfer, robberies, and one of our Supervisors was murdered behind the building at lunchtime in Hawthorne, and that was it for me there! I went to the County of LA at LAC USC Medical Center as a Senior Clerk Typist, until I moved to Riverside County, then right away got a position with the County of Riverside in DPSS as a Medi-cal Supervisor, where I have been since. Military My husband is a military veteran, receiving an Honorable Discharge, allowing us to purchase our first home in Riverside County 15 years ago.
