Al's Story
I joined the Army Band Program after H.S. and served 22 years, retiring as a Bandmaster, Chief Warrant Officer Four. My enlisted time was spent at Fort Knox and Frankfurt, Germany as a trombone player. I then completed Bandmaster training and was Commander/Bandmaster of bands at Fort Sheridan, IL, (5 years)Panama (3 1/2 years), and Fort Devens, MA. (5 years). My last assignment was as, Technical Director U.S. Army Bands, at Fort Harrison, IN. While in the Army I completed a Bachelor's degree in Business Mgt. and Liberal Arts from the Univ. of the State of NY.
Home is now Fishers, IN, and I am retired after working for Dow Chemical and EDS, later IBM at Do...Expand for more
w AgroSciences World Headquarters in Indianapolis managing I/T equipment for over 100 Dow Chemical sites across the U.S. Retired from IBM in 2015.
I have been blessed with two wonderful children and 7 precocious and loveable grandchildren.
I am very active in the Central Indiana musical community managing and playing in several musical groups, playing big band and jazz music. I am also the Orchestra Manager for the Booth Tarkington Civic Theatre, now in its 103rd season. The longest running, continually operating, musical theater in the U.S. And, I love spending time with my family, playing golf, serving my church, target shooting and riding my Harley.
