College
Attended the University of Tennessee at Nashville from 1969 until I graduated with a BS in Business Administration with emphasis is accounting and finance in June 1979. This was the last graduating class having an official ceremony at Nashville. The university was geared to working people and was a very busy place during night classes. It took a little longer than going full time, but was well worth the effort. Most of us were sorry to see the school being merged into Tennessee State University.
Workplace
First job was working as delivery person for Cox Drug Store, then as clerk. Joined the Naval Reserve in Mobile January 25th, 1960. Entered the Air Force in Sept 1960 and served until May 1968. Worked with Cumberland Distributor in Nashville, Tennessee in charge of accounts payable, payroll and receivables from May until Nov 1960. Military
Joined the Air Force in September 1960. Went to Lackland AFB, Tx for Basic training and spent some at Keesler AFB, MS for further training. Transferred to Sewart AFB in Smyrna, TN in Feb 1961. Stayed there until September 1965 except for temporary duty in Saudi Arabia 1963, and the Phillipines 1964.
In September 1965 transferred to Macdill AFB, Tampa, FL. Then in November 1966 transferred to CCK Air Base in Taiwan for 13 months. After that isolated tour, I was transferred to F. E. Warren AFB.Chyenne, WY and remained there until I was discharged in May of 1968.
