Following St. Agatha, I spent 4 years in the Marine Corps which included an all expenses paid trip to Vietnam in 1967 and 1968. After returning home, I spent a year at wonderful Parris Island, South Carolina and finished my 4 years in the Presidential Honor Guard and Ceremonial Companies at 8th & I in Washington D.C. I married Cheryl May from the Redford Union Class of 1965 in 1971 following my discharge from the Marines. I graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1978 and we moved to Fort Worth, Texas where I was a test development engineer for General Dynamics on the F-16 program. After 18 months there, we moved again to Tucson, Arizona in 1980 where I worked for Hughes Aircraft/Raytheon Missile Systems as a test design and Integration engineer on numerous missile programs.
