Al's Story

After leaving South Gate High I attended U. of So. California, where I studied Industrial Design in the School of Architecture. In 1958 I graduated and married Edith Beek (SG S'55). We have had a wonderful life together, raising our four children and sharing in the lives of our 14 grandkids. I worked at various industrial design jobs in Los Angeles before joining IBM in 1966, which took us to...Expand for more
Princeton, NJ. After 26 years and locations in Maryland and Raleigh, North Carolina,we retired to New Bern, NC, where we now reside. We enjoy our family, friends, and church, besides walking, biking, boating and reading. Reflecting back on South Gate High reminds me of the great education it provided and the wonderful kids and friends that were so abundant there. It was truly a magic time.
