Alan's Story
I hope you are asking me to "tell my story," from what the message center said. If not, I apologize. I find navigating around this classmates site very confusing.
It seems as the years go by all I think about are the "Glory Days" from the song by Bruce Springsteen. Like where the heck did it all go?
After college I was a Clinical Microbiologist for 23 years and a Clinical Lab Director for 9 years. Which might sound impressive but it was highly stressful with moderate pay.
Then through a couple of missadventures I ended up in the Indianapolis area working for Eli Lilly. Which is a great place to work but the people are not friendly. I miss my friends from the Goshen area where I used to work and live for 22 years.
I've been married twice and divorced twice. Single now with no hope in sight. I enjoy listening to music, anything but Rap and real twangy country. Don't mind the cross over country.
What I really enjoy are movies! Anything from the old black and whites to foreign movies with subtitles. Chic flicks to action, comedy to ...Expand for more
drama. I stay away from the chop-em wop-em gorry sadistic ones. No entertainment value there. And some outside hobbies as well.
Last year I went to Europe for the first time as kind of a family reunion. 14 of my cousins and their wives. I would like to travel more but don't like doing it alone and I'm not a planner. I need someone to tell me where to travel.
I tended bar part-time for a few years and really found it enjoyable. Plus I got my drinks for free. It was a small club where everyone knew each other. Kind of like the TV show "Cheers." If you seen any of the shows. I have a hard time meeting people and tending bar you are the center of attention. Not that I like the attention but meet a lot of nice people there-with some interesting stories.
Over the years I enjoyed working around the house and doing home improvements. Now I would raher pay someone to improve my home so I can travel. Tell me more about what you have done. I should stop rambling and see I "my story" will get to you-I really don't like this site!
