Alan's Story
Life
After leaving Sequoyah, I went to West Georgia College for 1 year, Southern Tech for 1 year, then to GA Tech, starting out in architecture, and graduating in '77 with a degree in civil engineering.
Went to work for John Portman, the architect who designed and built Peachtree Center, for two years (as a structural engineer, which at that time was very tedious and confining work), then went into construction products sales, and have been in that until a couple of years ago, when I changed over to a related company doing utility construction.
Was married in 1978 to Kathy Biehl, who was a 1968 graduate of Sequoyah. We had two kids, a boy and a girl, Christopher and Emily.
Chris is a professional dancer living in NYC and is 25. He was a National Merit Scholar and a 2001 graduate of Centennial High School in Roswell.
Emily is 21 and about to begin at The Creative Circus where she will study photography.
I'm very proud of both of them, and consider them my greatest achievement.

fficult marriage, and it was a constant struggle. I'm hoping that any future relationship will not be anywhere near as much work as that one was.
I have dated a few ladies since then, and dated one who started to get serious after about a year of dating her. However, once I found out what she was really like, which was too much like my first wife, and maybe worse (her name was Kathy also), I ended the relationship. I saw her a few months later at NorthPoint Mall with her new beau, and they were shopping for wedding rings, so I'm pretty sure she was only interested in sinking her hooks into someone, and seemingly anyone.
I currently live in in Alpharetta, and play golf as often as I can. I carry about an 18 handicap. For those who knew me, it will come as no surprise that I am still a huge Braves fan, but it's getting tougher to remain one with all their post-season failures.
I would love to hear from some old friends and aquaintances from Sequoyah. Didn't see very many on the list, but if you're out there, send me an email and let me know how you're doing.
