In 2013 I got to spend my 5th season as a Victorian Ballroom dance host at the Dickens Christmas Fair. I probably danced with 1000 or more ladies during that time and as a 60 year old seemed in less pain at the end of each day than the 20 year olds did. It was such fun. I attend a lavish Victorian ball every other month and themed Victorian, vintage and modern dances monthly ...so examples Dr. Who...Firefly, Sherlock Holmes, Titanic, Speakeasy. Dancing and my dance community has become my passion. In 2013 I also branched into the Art Deco era so my dress up events now include Gatsby and other Art Deco events. This year I will have to up my game in Vintage jazz waltz, vintage swing, the Charleston and the like...game on! 2013 was a year where I got to spend time at the San Francisco Opera, the SF Symphony, the SF Ballet and things of that nature that as an ERHS grad I never thought I would do nor be interested in.
