Life
Life has taken me far away from home, as I lived in Winnipeg, Manitoba for 26 years. Culturally and climatically, it's about as far away from LA as you can get. It was an odd place to be a rabbi. However, I think I discovered the true meaning of "normal" in Winnipeg--something that could never have been said about me while growing up in LA! l of the US--Fairfield, Iowa. I should add that I've been married to my wife Chaya for the last 29 years; that I have no children of my own, but married a woman with four, including a set of triplets. They are now all in their 30's, partnered, and the parents of our four grandchildren: Nathaniel, Thea, Theo, and Alma. When it happens, it happens fast.
