Alan's Story

Alan's Biography: Wow, here I am 28 years after graduating from WA. Where does the time go? I just recently retired from the fire department after a long career as a Fire Lieutenant/Paramedic for Palm Beach County. I was also a member of the Fire Department's Disaster Command Team and was deployed numerous times. I'm not currently working but will probably get some odd part-time job to get me out of the house. Being 46 and getting paid to be retired is GREAT!!! I'm currently working on our backyard which will include a vegetable garden, hot tub, bird sanctuary and fish pond. We have moved from South Florida to just north of Atlanta, Georgia where all of our family resides. We love the people here, the seasons and mountains (even though they're small). have 3 wonderful children: Melissa, 22, a flight attendant, Samantha,17, a Senior, and Austin, 13, an 8th grader. Melissa has traveled all over the world and has been in countries I've never heard of!!! She is now expecting her first child (I'm going to be a grandfather, yikes!!!) in August. Samantha has been a cheerleader since I think the age of two and loves school and church. She wants to be an Anesthesiologist and is starting to plan her career. Austin is in 8th Grade and plays in the band. He also loves computers and recently has been appointed as an apprentice for a computer gaming company where he writes programs and comes up with updates and "fixes" for the games.
