Alan's Story
Life
Since Graduation, I went to The University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire for four years, went into the Army Bands Program where I toured the country with a wind ensemble, jazz band, brass quintet, and a tuba quartet. I was stationed at Fort Lewis for 4 years, and in Atlanta (Fort McPherson) for 5 years. I graduated with a degree in music from The University of Texas.
Musically, I am involved in many projects... I'm in the Texas Army National Guard Band in Austin, teaching about 50 students a week, performing both with my tuba quartet, Vortex, and free-lance. I've performed recently with the San Antonio Symphony and the Austin Symphony. I've taught in summer programs at Baylor and at The University of Texas as well.

lly, Kim and I own a mortgage company and a mortgage lending company as well. I'm married, have a 12 year old step daughter, an 18 month old son, and one final kiddo on the way. We're living north of Austin, and are here for the long haul. Texas is great if not for all the rain... oh wait... that's Seattle.
School
One time... at band camp...
Military
Nine years active duty from 1993-2002, 2 years and counting in the Texas National Guard. That's a fair amount of doing unto others as you'd have them do unto you... and damned if they didn't! I enjoyed travelling around the country with my friends in the FORSCOM Band and in my tuba quartet "SHELL SHOCK."
