Alan Higgins:  

Life: Attended Oakland U. 1960-62. Started playing guitar, dropped out of school. Went "on the road" fall of 62. Voted Oakland U's most successful dropout after playing at the faculty beer party in 1964. Went back to school fall of 64 for 2 more years, at San Francisco State. I married Christie Powell in 1967. We have two boys, born in 1969 and 1972. I lived and worked at music and other things in San Francisco until 1970, then lived in West Virginia, Florida, and Georgia. Moved back to California (southern this time, near San Diego) in late 1978. Christie died of cancer in 1981. She remains to this day the most beautiful woman I have ever known, and the great love of my life. We did a lifetime together in the time we had, and it's gone on ever since then too. . . She's an ongoing inspiration and helpmate, sometimes in unmistakable ways. . . Suffice it to say that death is just a doorway. Became a silver/goldsmith in 1983, made jewelry for 12 years. Remarried, which ended badly-- my mistake, got divorced, enough said. I worked for a non-profit organization of investors (not policyholders) who were defrauded on investments in Lloyd's of London insurance operations, assisting with the research behind the legal battles...Expand for more
