Alan's Story
Life
After a very mediocre spell at Georgetown University I went abroad to
South Africa and Rhodesia. I had traveled to those places dring my
college years several times. I spent the period 1974 through 1980
in Salisbury,Rhodesia and Johannesburg, SA. I occasionally worked but
spent most of my time traveling. In the early 1980's I lived in Kuwait
and the UAE. I returned to South Africa in the mid 1980's for 3 years
and finally made my way back to the USA in the late 1980's. I
am living in Morristown NJ and have no plans on leaving this great
country again. I am a white knuckle f...Expand for more
lyer and never wish to see
a 3rd world disaster again. I am healthy,happy but definitely not
wealthy. I experienced lots of history, saw much of the world and
pretty much accomplished my modest goals. I have been out of touch
with FL people but I hope to regain contact again.
Military
While living in Rhodesia during the 1970s I was drafted into the Rhodesian military national service....Afterbasic training I was
seconded to the Rhodesian Rifles and went onto specialist training in the Paymaster Corp....WAY behind the front lines....I was in and out of national service for 2.5 years.
