Alan's Story
After graduation from HF in 1970, I attended NYIT in Westbury, receiving a BFA in 1974 in television production. I was looking to re-locate and become a cameraman, but fate intervened.
I collapsed one day from bi-lateral pneumonia in October 1974, and it almost took my life at 22. What did occur is I met the woman I married while I was sick in the hospital. She was the nurse assigned to me. My wife Ann took good care of me for the rest of her life, and gave us the gift of 2 good children, John & Bernadette.

g known her was an honor and a privilege.
I somehow made it through a lifetime of civil service, beginning with BOCES in 1977, and then becoming a weights & measures inspector in 1978, a position I held for nearly 30 years until my retirement (YAAY!) in 2007; I was grand-fathered into Tier 1 and I was able to retire at 55.
In July of 2007 I married for the second time, to my spouse Linda. We are currently looking to purchase a winter home in Palm Coast, Florida, which, on this 31st of December, is 69 degrees fahrenheit. Winters in NY are beginning to be t-t-ooooo m-m-m-uch!
I spend my time with my wife, surfing the net and buying/selling on eBay (lately, mostly buying : ) ) and composing songs. They don't make me money, but they give me a certain satisfaction.
Every life is a unique journey, and I can say with certainty that I've been blessed.
